Nylon Insert, Locking Thread Nuts – Type JX-PL, JX-PLC

Self-Clinching Fasteners, Self-clinching (captive) fasteners provide an effective and economical way to attach components without the need for welding. Self-clinching fasteners are positioned to the accuracy of the part’s installation hole location and are designed to be pressed into these holes that have been previously punched, drilled, or machined into a part.  Subsequently, this makes them an integral part of the manufactured assembly.

White nylon locking element (for unified fasteners) prevents thread galling .locking performance meets MIL-N-25027. Thread sizes #4 to #10 and M3 to M5.The thread locking torque performance of Type JX-PL and JX-PLC self-clinching fasteners is equivalent to applicable specifications. A nylon hexagonal element provides a reusable, non-metallic prevailing torque thread lock. The strong knurled collar receives the installation force and resists torque. The spin resistance of the knurl greatly exceeds the torque that can be exerted by the self-locking feature. As the knurled collar is embedded in the sheet, the undercut cavity beneath the collar is filled with displaced sheet material, thereby captivating the fastener in the sheet. Unified fasteners have a blue or white nylon locking element and metric fasteners have a black or white and blue nylon locking element.
