Panel fasteners with spring-loaded captive screws for mounting on P.C boards, Thread sizes #4,#6, and M3. Self Clinching Panel fasteners provide a solution where design engineers want a spring loaded panel fastener assembly to be used in thin panels so that they are easily assembled, and removable in the assembly. Fastener self clinching panel fasteners are often used in access panels for electronic enclosures and in equipment consoles. The panel fasteners are available in 300 series stainless steel and are passivated to ASTM A967. The self clinching panel fasteners offer a low cost of installation and provide a strong reusable thread in sheets as thin as .060” / 1.53mm thick. For the self clinching spring loaded panel fasteners to be installed properly, the fasteners must be sufficiently harder than the panels into which they will be installed. The stainless steel plungers can be installed into steel or aluminum panels with a maximum hardness of HRB 70.
