It belongs to medium carbon steel, also known as high-quality carbon structural steel. Medium carbon steel is carbon steel with a carbon content ranging from 0.25% to 0.65%. Carbon steel with a carbon content below 0.25% is called low-carbon steel. #45 Steel also contains various elements such as Si and Mn. It has a tensile strength of ≥600 MPa and a yield strength of ≥355 MPa. Additionally, #45 Steel has a certain hardness, making its machining performance moderate. Usually, we use #45 Steel as a benchmark to judge the machining performance of other materials. It is worth mentioning that Q235 Steel is easier to machine than #45 Steel.
